How fancy is fancy? I'm pretty sure you just order the things you want and use good table manners like Mom taught you. Of course, if Mom didn't believe in table manners, you might be in trouble. But as long as you don't blow your nose on the fancy cloth napkins or chew with your mouth open, you're probably good.

I have fond memories of the Taverna Cretekou in Alexandria--it was our go-to place in D.C. because the then-owner was a former colleague of my father's.
