What about those of us who spend hours on end writing enormous outlines and making detailed notes, who work hard to make sure we don't contradict what we've previously written, who don't post until we have a sizable amount already written and then try to keep always a little ahead, posting regularly until we finish our epics? Short fic requires an entirely different execution. Each has its merits; end of story. Can we stop the wank now?
