A few fandoms
Lord of the Rings - Legolas/Gimli: I'm still new to this ship and I'm terrible at finding good fics by myself so I'll take pretty much anything, canon or AUs.
BBC Sherlock - John/Sherlock: I haven't been active in this fandom for a couple of years or so, so hopefully there's lots of new good stuff going around? I'd prefer to avoid weird AUs like omegaverse (I think that's what it's called?) and heavy angst, but pretty much anything else is fair game. In the same vein, Holmes/Watson stuff of ACD canon would be cool too since I haven't read anything from that fandom before.
Harry Potter - Any interesting, non-mainstream ships: I know this fandom will ship pretty much everything and everyone with anyone else, so I'd really like to be introduced to some new ships! Even if it seems like a weird ship, as long as the fic does a good job of selling me on it, I'd love to read it. I'm thinking stuff like Hermione/Neville and Snape/Ginny (I read a really great fic where Snape was deaged and ended up becoming friends with Ginny and Malfoy once which made me love the idea), BUT if you have any really good recs for more popular ships I'd probably take them.
Supernatural - Sam/Castiel: When I shipped Dean/Castiel, I read a lot of chick flick AUs, spins on popular romance tropes, basically. Does stuff like that exist for Sam/Cas as well?
Fandom recs:
Books - Fantasy, but Narnia style over LotR style. I generally like kids books best, like Diana Wynne Jones and Roald Dahl, but I love Discworld too so I'm sure there are some cool adult stuff I haven't read yet.
Other - Canon that has a ship with a major age difference. I really like couples like that with a focus on the older character ageing and worrying they're less attractive for it - basically just focus on the whole age thing that is not 'oh no his older age means he will never take me seriously' or 'you are too immature to like me'. Whether it's a canon ship or a pairing that fandom ships like that, I don't mind. I just have a huge age kink please help ;_;
