[The Quiz Broadcast (That Mitchell and Webb Look)]

That sketch genuinely terrifies me.

I'm torn between thinking it's the best thing they've ever done, and just being in depressed shock every time after I see one of those sketches about what happens after the "event".

Too real.

SAME, man. SAme

(Anonymous) 2015-07-16 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, it was surprisingly brutal. their sherlock holmes one was pretty gutting as well

(Anonymous) 2015-07-16 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
The Sherlock Holmes one made me so depressed first time I watched it, I was kind of pissed off such a thing had been in a comedy show. But then I grew to appreciate it for what it is and it was kind of part of a joke they made earlier about trying to out-do the tragic ending of Blackadder 4.

Also after seeing Mr. Holmes, I'd take the M&W sketch. That Holmes had dementia but at least he still had Watson.

DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE EVENT! IT WILL CAUSE DISTRESS! THE EVENT IS IN THE PAST!

(Anonymous) 2015-07-15 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't completely love those sketches.

Like, the only person on earth.

I was completely oblivious to their existence until today.

well, okay, the only Mitchell & Webb fan who doesn't completely love them

I'm with you. I have no idea what this is. (Though the comments make it sound interesting, so I'll be googling it.)

Edit: Someone further down posted a link to the episodes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WsuaYh_hkg&index=1&list=PL3Dx8Yxab-uFpPdulB4g2rw5bpJIFlcPU . The show doesn't really work for me at all. Oh well!

It's not really yank humor though to be fair. Stick to your basics.

It was more the laugh track that turned me off it. I know that was supposed to be part of the humor, but it just annoyed me more than anything else. I did have some snickers at some of the other stuff, but the laugh track was just too much for me.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-16 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah the laugh track is rather galling. Doesn't really fit with the rest of it.

REMAIN INDOORS.

Mitchell and Webb secret! <3 That is one of their best recurring sketches, IMO.

Let's take a look at the prizes:

Man, those sketches were hilariously evil.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-16 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Does someone have a link to this?

I was curious too, and so I looked on YouTube, and I think this is the complete set, maybe?

Just watched through it, and I can confirm that's all of them. Enjoy the playlist, and, of course, remain indoors!

They have a surprising amount of darkness in their sketches.

When I've seen too much of that though, I just go rewatch Wordwang

This is second for me only to "Homeopathic A&E." I love "Homeopathic A&E." :D

However, in my headcanon, this is Britain in a Fallout 3 AU.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-16 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too anon. Fecking hell though, they're super disturbing sketches.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-16 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I just realized that this sketch was probably copied on SNL. Admittedly, it's a good one to copy.
