I hadn't read theories about Mom Pines, Shermy, or the real origin of Stan's 'tattoo', so those elements surprised me. Most other big things though, like the identity theft? Yeah, wasn't super shocking.

I really liked the episode, but I'm more interested in the show now that it's over. It was info dump central. Let's move forward!

NAYRT. I hadn't read any of those theories either, so it was a surprise to me as well. But boy, that was an exposition heavy episode. They handled it well (like, everything Soos said made me laugh), but it felt very "strap in, cause we have a lot to go through."

(I was kind of mad there were no commercial breaks because I was sick and would have appreciated the time to pass out)

AYRT - I watched it online so I could pause for breaks. That said, there weren't a lot of clear cut "this was intended to be a commercial" pauses so sometimes I stopped in the middle of the action without realizing it. :P

Mostly /co stuff. The nonimportant third brother, the burned on tattoo, and the 'Stan takes on Ford's name to bring him back; has been a thing there for a while. They also saw the leak weeks before tumblr got to, so there were a lot of people shocked by Stanley being Ford.

The mystery trio never existing and Ford not being a lovable goofball has a lot of people disappointed. It's kind of funny, I always figured he'd kind of be an obsessed jerk (Not that some of it wasn't warranted!)

AYRT - Gotcha. I usually go spoiler-crazy, but I didn't for this episode. I would have been kind of bummed to go in knowing everything you mentioned being posted.

I bet the Mystery Trio enthusiasts were disappointed. I don't participate in the fandom too much, but comics of those ilk were always fun to read. I thought Stanford would be nicer, but Stanley definitely came across as more sympathetic to me in the episode. I like that they're evenly flawed though - they both had legit reasons to be mad at each other and neither twin was "right" or "wrong" within the narrative (so far).

The leak was actually just the first few minutes of a future episode, but it had Dipper calling the author "Great Uncle Stanford" so that kind of was a huge "A-ha!" for a lot of people.

I know Alex said someone would be dying at the end of the season, and I can't help but think it'll be Stanford. Which will be a huge let down IMO.
