Steve Rogers totally is a woobie even if he isn't often written that way in fics. He's a woobie in canon.

People grabbed onto Bucky and there can only ever be one woobie in any given fic, right?

I don't know. I think part of it is because he's really good at faking it. He's all about burying his pain to do what has to be done, so people forget that he actually still is feeling the pain even if he isn't showing it.

Me too. There is so much fic potential in a character who holds it all in, hides their pain, and helps and protects everyone else until they hit their limit and can't hide it anymore. I don't get why more people don't see this.

Agreed. I just don't get it. That is like everything I want in fics. That is my ideal fic.

Honestly this is why I think people don't really write about Steve's pain because part of his thing is that he pushes down everything he feels, but that doesn't mean he isn't suffering and sadly it doesn't get picked up on anywhere near as much as Bucky because well, Bucky's pain is way more in your face(honestly I like fic where Steve is helping Bucky but man I'd love to see more of the reverse too, those two helping each other is my jam).
