Me too. I can't do that to myself, and I'm 100% convinced at this point that Harper Lee did not want it released.

NAYRT - I'm more 50/50 because I think we can't really know, but having read it it seems to me she decided not to release it quite deliberately. I liked it but can see why she wouldn't wanted it published. She may have changed her mind, but how pressured/misled was she? OTOH I don't think anyone really knows except her lawyer, and we may all be making a false assumption.

The fact that there are passages in the new book that are word for word copies from TKAM makes me believe the criticism that the Watchman was a rough draft of To Kill a Mockingbird. And that it was never meant to be published. To Kill a Mockingbird IS the final product of Go Set a Watchman.
