In the Flesh, though considering the lack of advertising and ratings I guess I shouldn't be surprised. (It has almost everything fandom loves, though.)

I started watching it. I couldn't get past the first episode though because the prejudice and the guilt the main character was feeling was too uncomfortable for me.

That's perfectly valid! It isn't exactly an easy show full of laughter and fun times so I suppose that's yet another reason it didn't take off.

It was hard for me too, but rewarding. Kieren goes through some of the most... Realistic suffering I've ever seen.

but luckily it does have a small cult following :)
(it's my fave series dealing with zombies and I'm glad I managed to get 2 of my friends to watch it while everyone else was drooling over Walking Dead)

Yes, it does! I only found out about the show once series two had started airing so I marathoned the rest and boy, was it an experience.

The fandom is small but dedicated.

I wish I could get other people into the show... Good job, anon!

I like both TWD and In the Flesh, but feel like ITF is vastly superior in many ways. That's just preference, though; In the Flesh is a much smaller, personal story that deals with some heavy issues beautifully, and I like how self contained it is.

In the Flesh was wonderful and there was a small fandom for it on tumblr but mostly, yeah, not a whole hell of a lot. Which was a shame but what can you do?

Still sad there will be no season 3. Season 2 ended with such an obvious setup for renewal. :(

The channel that made it, BBC3, is a channel that is only for *new* drama according to its charter, pre-existing drama shows must find a home somewhere else on the BBC network to make way for more new drama on BBC3. That is the argument that In The Flesh's producer's used to end the UK version of Being Human and get its budget and timeslot appropriated for In The Flesh. Hoist on their own petard on that one. They forced the BBC to kill a much more popular show to get their own social activism zombie show made. Its cards were marked from day one because of that.
