Our border collie, Rex died some time last night. We noticed he wasn't looking well a few days ago, and had a vet appointment scheduled for him today. Mom found him dead when she went to check on him this morning. The only thing we can think is he got into something none of the other animals were interested in since this came on so quick and nothing else got sick at all.

The most heart breaking thing for me is seeing how Mom's Shih tzu, Chewy is reacting to this. Those dogs were so close, and Chewy just does not understand why he can't find Rex anywhere.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I don't have anything to say that can help, but just know that although losing a pet is absolutely devastating (as is any loss), you might one day be able to think about your pet without feeling crushing sadness.
