I don't get soulmate AUs where people have their soulmate's name written on their body and the characters keep talking about how they are waiting to find their soulmate. Why don't they just google their soulmate then? If it's set in modern times surely someone would have made a database.

Good point.

I like soulmate AUs where one party is struggling really hard not to be with their soulmate, because how things stand now it would be a disaster, a kind of abusive arranged marriage. Just because someone's your future soulmate doesn't mean you should be with them right now.
