I'm getting it from my personal experience in fandom, as it happens, because the majority of people I've encountered who are actively involved in fandom are women. Maybe the majority of them aren't straight, I've never actually taken a formal poll on their sexualities, but female identified has been the majority in the thirteen years I've been hanging around fandom circles, and the majority of them are into men in some way, shape, or form. Maybe the majority of them are bi, who knows.

Again, personal experience in fandom, since the vast majority of fic tends to be M/M in nature, and of the handful of men I know in fandoms in general, the only one of them who writes fic at all (let alone slash fic) is me. I never said it would never happen, just that I've noticed that it doesn't, and I tend to assume that's the reason.

Have you not seen the show?

It has canon f/f relationships so it probably has more lesbian/bi fans than the fandom's you're thinking about

What the Anon who responded to you said, plus:

Okay, yeah, into men in some way does not mean they aren't somehow into women. And on top of that--you don't need to be into women to ship women! They're cartoon characters to begin with! And at least in my experience straight women seem to be much cooler with f/f ships than straight guys with m/m--and even THEN, a hell of a lot of straight guys into cartoons don't mind that at all.

I think if you're looking at a community of people who are into a Rebecca Sugar cartoon you have to expect them to be cool with certain things.
