Again, personal experience in fandom, since the vast majority of fic tends to be M/M in nature, and of the handful of men I know in fandoms in general, the only one of them who writes fic at all (let alone slash fic) is me. I never said it would never happen, just that I've noticed that it doesn't, and I tend to assume that's the reason.

Okay, yeah, into men in some way does not mean they aren't somehow into women. And on top of that--you don't need to be into women to ship women! They're cartoon characters to begin with! And at least in my experience straight women seem to be much cooler with f/f ships than straight guys with m/m--and even THEN, a hell of a lot of straight guys into cartoons don't mind that at all.
I think if you're looking at a community of people who are into a Rebecca Sugar cartoon you have to expect them to be cool with certain things.
