Re: Trivial worries: college edition

I was also 3 years older than class average when starting college. Socially, I did not notice a difference at all - but I'm sort of "younger" in my head.

There were also other older students, quite a few of them if you kept an eye out for it. But I got on fine even with the younger ones. Some of them are still my friends. 3 years becomes less significant the older you get.

Also I never mentioned my age, everyone just assumed I was 18 I guess.

Thanks for sharing. I think of myself as younger than my age too, compared to most other people my age I've met.

3 years won't feel like a lot for much longer, it seems. But I've been really self-conscious about my age even before I knew I'd be doing this, because I feel like I should be much more capable than I am. I feel like I've spent these 3 years stagnating, though I won't go into why, and not that I believe that going to university earlier would in itself have made me more mature.

But like anon above reminded me, I probably won't often hear "Hello, how old are you?"
