Not quite an author but....

Annoyed reviewer/critiquer here, I wish people with the attitude of "I'm going to say whatever the hell I want/give intentionally half assed useless reviews out of spite/I'm just here to complain I don't HAVE to offer anything helpful" would just not even bother.

Really. It makes it hard to actually make a difference and help people get better, because they're all defensive because their idea of criticism is "hey this sucks and you suck, i hate you". Nobody's awesome right out of the gate.

"I have to say something because ITS MUH OPINION" Congratulations. You have successfully bolstered your own ego. The world has been informed of your super important opinion.

Like I know everybody has the right to state their opinion but dammit, saying something just because you can seems pointlessly immature. And yes I know reviews that say nothing but "kawaii please update soon" don't offer much of value either, but at least they don't actively things more difficult by making the author more defensive.
