My problem with an Utena reboot/remake is that the original series is beautifully animated and extremely well done, the only part of Utena I full on disliked was the movie.

Some series were not as tightly done back in the day and there can be justifications for a reboot (like even though Sailor Moon Crystal is bad it was sold as a more faithful adaptation to the manga, which could have been interesting if done right.)

This.

Like, would a remake get rid of the duels/duel songs? Because as repetititve as they were (both visually and musically), I just adored them for their graceful WTFuckery.

Ammonite!

Yeah there was some repetitive filler but honestly I have trouble imagining a modern take being as unique, well animated and with such beautiful music.

There have been some good reboots but there have also been some that turned out to be disasters. I think if a series was well done it's best to leave it alone.
