I'm going to echo others and suggest you look into a diagnosis of ADHD, because I too didn't realize this was not how everyone's brain worked until a psych diagnosed me, especially because I've (overall) done pretty well in school and they generally don't look into diagnosing you if you're not failing classes or something.

That's because these days usually the first thing a psychologist will do with an ADD/ADHD diagnosis is try to help the patient develop coping strategies before skipping straight to medications, especially with a diagnosis of adult ADD/ADHD.

If you're already coping, then that's basically someone's job done for them. However, it's still nice to have medication as part of your tool kit for when you're too tired/stressed to be able to cope with a situation so some people still opt for that.

oh, I agree. I was just saying it never had reason to come up in my life before and could be one of the reasons OP wasn't diagnosed too, I was seeing the psych about something else entirely.
