There are still a few of us. I mean, it's probably bigger than a lot of other nineties anime fandoms, but it's still tiny. I think there's just not much in it that encourages younger, newer fans to check it out. They'll watch stuff like Evangelion because it's so iconic, Utena because it has lgbtqia representation, Ranma because they liked Inuyasha, but with Slayers it probably just looks like a cheesy nineties fantasy with bad animation.

...Which well, it kind of is, but it's also hilarious and sweet and has fantastic characters. Also, a good chunk of fandom dislikes the 2008/2009 series, which I don't personally get. It's not as good as NEXT, but I thought it was still really good and a ton of fun. I half think that nostalgia goggles might have been part of the reason it was so disliked...
