Maybe I should have specified that I also deal with the public and have to listen to their incessant bullshit? At least the people you're dealing with know how to read, unlike the fucking rednecks I have to deal with all day.

Pfft. Knowing how to read does not make them anything. Least of all easier to deal with.

I get people demanding whatever God awful book was on Oprah last, and yelling at us when we don't have it in because a million more of her drones came looking for it earlier. People who dump their screaming children in the kid's section and expect me to watch them because they can't be bothered to do it themselves. Herds of teenagers who somehow think it's appropriate to guffaw at the sex books, and then shove them somewhere in the kid's section because heaven forbid they get caught looking. People who expect me to know the title of a book based on the color of the cover, and then, for some reason, get mad when I can't figure it out. People who desire my time and energy to help them find a book when they can't even be assed to get off their cell phones. People who literally hoard magazines until two minutes before we close, leaving us with a pile a couple feet tall to put away.

I could go on. I really could. It's not an easy job, it's not a fun one. It sucks, and people like you are the reason why.

So you're going to add onto what the booksellers already have to deal with just to see a couple of fandomsecrets? That's got to be one of the most moronic, juvenile things I've ever heard.
