Currently Satoru Iwata and Monty Oum. I wouldn't say they personally hurt, but it's very much that I feel a bit bitter about how random death can be (Iwata was diagnosed with a bile cancer tbf), and cut short the plans one makes. With those two, I had a lot of respect for their work, so I was certainly saddened that I'm not going to be able to see what they could have directed in the future (Nintendo's direction; Oum's Roosterteeth and personal projects).

Also, Michael Jackson. It was pretty much the most memorable one for me given how my family was also expressing a range of emotion from disappointment, sadness, and irritation. It sticks out in my mind since I was bike riding with my dad that day, and during a break we both receive a text from my sister about it. Breaking news heh.

I think it was known for a while that Iwata was sick, but I don't recall his exact illness being disclosed completely to the public until the day of his passing. Whoever will follow in Iwata's footsteps (and I'm not talking about the interim folks, like Shigeru Miyamoto and this other guy whose name I sadly forget) is going to have some pretty big shoes to fill.

As for Monty Oum, I shamefully admit I didn't pay too much mind to his output (I kind of know what RWBY is, and 'Dead Fantasy' of course). But none the less, his death was far more sudden and unexpected, and it's always really sad to see a young person with so much potential/promise pass away like he did.
