(Anonymous) 2015-07-22 01:38 am (UTC)(link)This too is a pretty poor argument. I think you'll find that colonialism played a bigger role than the Westminster system being objectively better than the American system.
America colonized what exactly? Had a go at Cuba and the Phillipines, but not much else. Been hopping on the military-industrial complex and economic pressure more in terms of spreading our influence. But you can't exactly use the popularity of the Westminster system as a reason that it's better, all things considered.
And this:

is pretty difficult to prove considering that the US and the UK are quite frequently rated similarly in world democracy rankings.
Plus, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but everything you described about the American system...most definitely occurs in the Westminster system as well.
