The thing is, most people aren't actually against helping out their friends who can't drive-- it's when those said friends start taking it for granted. I had a friend that had anxiety issues and couldn't drive, and I was happy to drive her where she needed to go when I could. It started becoming that when I couldn't (for reasons ranging from work to my own health), she started laying the guilt on me thick-- by using the exact language that you're using, conflating my inability to "I don't owe you shit".

And yeah, you know, it's tiring? I 100% understand that not everyone is capable of driving, and that obviously those that can't still need to get to places, but I can't be the only option someone has.
