Nobody DOES owe you shit, and constantly asking for rides without regularly offering compensation is rude. I agree public transportation needs to be improved everywhere and alternatives to driving are important to have for this exact reason. But if you're the type of person who is always asking, or especially acting entitled to rides, and you're not paying them (or at least regularly offering to pay) gas money, you're still a mooch. It's great when friends help out, and a favor every once in awhile should be expected in a friendship. But providing a regular service shouldn't, especially one uncompensated.

Oh but where are they going to GET this money? A job would require regular transportation. Which needing would apparently make them a mooch. What if they can't always afford to offer up gas money so they can get to work? Government disability pay can be hard to get and doesn't cover everything.

Do you even think about things like this? Or are you so stuck in your little world of "nobody should owe anybody anything. They have no money and no way of getting around without help? "oh they're just a mooch. The world doesn't owe them shit."

The entitlement of these people, wanting to make a living and survive, right? They should just starve and die alone in their homes.
