Actually, I had to go and check out your other icons, and I must say--they are all freaking hi-larious. Specially the 10/13 thing.
I will never understand the newWho-fans who don't get into the old show. Getting into Doctor Who...it's like opening a great big treasure chest, and lookit what's inside! Some thirty-odd years worth of Doctors, episodes, companions, and other goodies! Would that all my obsessions were this accomidating.
('Course, it makes it much harder to extract oneself from said fandom...)

Well, I was a bit anxious when I left the familiar grounds of New Who. ;)
For one thing, Classic episodes are hard to come by. And It's just, you know, a big difference. It's so old, and it looks old (and I'm not even talking about the back/white era). And I suppose if you start at the wrong point (say, an episode where the Doctor dies. Or one that needs background knowledge. Or Earthshock. ;)) it's easy to say "what the hell was that about, that's never Doctor Who" and stop. *shrugs*
But I agree, it's marvellous that once you're hooked, and realize that ALL that Doctors are amazing, you've got 160 episodes to chose from. And almost all of them are movie-lengh. And they're not exclusive, you can love Two as much as Six, because hey, they're the same person. And there's something unique in every Doctor/Companion(s) relationship.

I don't think it's something you can really get out of, once you're in. In twenty years, you'll walk down the street (ON YOUR HOVERBOARD) and see a guy with a funky coat and think "he's watched way too much Doctor Who". ;)
