I now realize that my wording was wrong. I never meant to turn it into the 'Oppression Olympics'. I am complaining that this certain person seems to believe that blacks are the only ones that have it bad, and that rubs me the wrong way. She blatantly self-inserts her prerogative into her RPs/FanFictions, and I think that speaks millions on her weakness as a writer.

Basically she is an ignorant bigot, and is as bad as those she claims that 'oppress' her.

I thought maybe it was about one person only, but it wasn't terribly clear about that so I wasn't sure. Since it is, I'll have to take your word for it since I don't know the person.

It came across that you were attacking black women period with the phrase "in real life." Only the last line suggests that it's a criticism directed to one person, and by then it's too late. It's one thing to say an author is too self-preoccupied to write a good story, and could improve her skill with an expansion of her world view. Specifically suggesting that the author focuses too much on her own race and gender mix is blurring the line--how much is too much, in that case? Opining that her own perception of her own race and gender mix is annoying because she doesn't address race and gender mixes with which she would be less familiar gets it all mixed up and sounds real nitpicky, nearly insensitive on your part.

Be more specific next time. Because there's barely *any* black women in any of the fandoms, much less enough to compile a stereotype within it.

Basically, you attacked a woman you consider to be an ignorant bigot and did it in such a way that supports and perpetuates attacks and slights leveled against all black women, for as long as colonialism and white supremacy have been in bed together.

"During the Trujillo regime, people who were dark skinned were rejected, so they created their own mechanism to fight it," said Ramona Hernández, Director of the Dominican Studies Institute at City College in New York. "When you ask, ‘What are you?' they don't give you the answer you want . . . saying we don't want to deal with our blackness is simply what you want to hear."

Hernández, who has olive-toned skin and a long mane of hair she blows out straight, acknowledges she would "never, never, never'' go to a university meeting with her natural curls.

"That's a woman trying to look cute; I'm a sociologist," she said.

Asked if a black Dominican woman can be considered beautiful in her country, Hernández leapt to her feet.

"You should see how they come in here with their big asses!'' she said, shuffling across her office with her arms extended behind her back, simulating an enormous rear-end. "They come in here thinking they are all that, and I think, 'doesn't she know she's not really pretty?'"

As for the supposed OP, I wonder if according to her any of the afro-latinas are bigoted and complainy and as annoying as the so-called ficcer she despises. A nickel bets she only really means blacks with "bad attitudes" (aka Americans) and not 'well-behaved' ones.
