man this is such a weird narrative to become as wide-spread as it has

like, it's not so much that it exists as an interpretation of the show, but it's weird to me how much buy-in people have on that shit

I know right? You could argue that Character dies, is threatened with death, or death is discussed. But rape? That doens't happen nearly as much as the mary sue would have you believe.

well, regardless of if it's rape or not, at least half the episode will be taken up by some ridiculously long sex scene (or two), guaranteed.

sadly, not anymore. I liked it better when it did because that'S what made it real for me. (<- girl with a normal sex life. not neckbeard. have a little kid, too. I hate when people pretend that dealing with sexuality aesthetically on TV is something only perverted men can like.)

-Dany was graphically raped on two separate occasions
-Sansa was graphically almost gang raped
-Gilly was almost raped
-Brienne was almost raped
-Theon was graphically almost gang raped and is sexually abused
-Meera was almost raped
-Cersei was raped
-Sansa was raped
-Craster's wives were graphically gang raped
-Meryn Trant rapes little girls
-Joffrey has prostitutes graphically beaten and sexually abused

That's just off the top of my head. This show revels in pandering to the lowest common denominator, it's downright insulting.

I acknowledge that the show has a significant amount of rape. But people seem to want to take that assertion to a really extreme place, and they seem highly committed to that. Like that's the only thing that happens on the show & the only reason people watch it & that you could, in general, take any conversation about the show and find and replace "Game of Thrones" with "rape" and it wouldn't change anything.

The reason people exaggerate it a bit is because of how much rape there is. It goes above and beyond other shows which might have an episode or two centering around it. Its sex scenes are really creepy and long and feel rapey even when they're consensual. The show is just drenched in rape. So people may exaggerate, but they're not exaggerating by much.
