Someone on my Facebook this morning shared a truly-rage inducing article equating Islam to the rise of the Nazis. Not extremism, not ISIS and the like; Islam/Muslims in general. It was presented as an academic article, which it clearly wasn't (no citations and nothing to back up the facile claims other than dubious anecdotal evidence backed by the authority of of having lived through WW2).

I just defriended them. I'm sick to the back teeth of the rampant Islamophobia about the place. Locally, low-income and homeless people were invited to the feast at the end of Ramadam by the Muslim community here. But apparently people only represent Islam when they're blowing stuff up, not when they're doing good things.

I think if she did kill herself, then never before has so much effort been put into making a suicide look like a murder.

She killed herself.She had a history of depression. She was arrested on the way to a job she hadn't completely secured. An arrest would GREATLY diminish her chances of getting it.

I've seen people in jail cells try to kill themselves (I worked as a jailer/911 operator for about a year). It isn't hard.

False arrests spoil everyone's lives. The abusive way the American system handles prisoners even more so.

OP of the thread above. I'd not actually heard anything about it before. I watched the dashcam video and she didn't seem to do anything that warranted the threats, physically grabbing her, or even trying to arrest her. He should have continued writing the fine and handed it over.

On her death, I have no idea. I certainly find the whole thing very suspicious but no one can know for sure. Unfortunately.

I think racism killed her. I don't think she killed herself, I think the cop slamming her head against the ground had something to do with it.
