(Anonymous) 2015-07-23 12:03 am (UTC)(link)Of course after the first season aired it became obvious that people really liked the girls. Though with Hef's ego he still thought it was about him so he probably thought he could easily recreate the trio and continue the show after they left.
According to Holly's book Hefner really doesn't do much, like what he did on the show was even more then what he normally does because he was trying to put forth a certain image.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-23 12:29 am (UTC)(link)According to Holly's book Hefner kept a tight leash and didn't like giving girls too much because he knew if they had too much money they would leave.
When GND was a success the girls had more pull and were able to get more out of later seasons. But they didn't get paid for the first season at all.
