AYRT
Flo's original idea was for a concept album about a witch on trial for murder in Hollywood. She described it in at least one interview as "The Crucible: The Musical" and said that she researched the LA witchcraft scene*. Also there was a love story in there somewhere? (The details on that story thread aren't clear to me.)

Anyway "the plan changed after she returned to England to work with Markus Dravs, whom she'd selected to produce the album... 'I was handing him songs like 'Which Witch'... and he was like, 'No, no — you can't do that,'' Welch remembered with a laugh. 'I just felt that she'd definitely done the whole drama thing on the first two records,' Dravs said. 'And I was sure she had another side that hadn't really been displayed.'"

:P

*I live in Iowa, so I have no idea if there really is a prevalent witchcraft scene in LA or what it is like if it exists.

Hopefully once her contract's up she'll make that! It sounds really fun!

Shit. I really wish I hadn't read this. Yes, I like that Flo went with a different idea, more personal material/songs.

But now I want a witch trial album from her SO BAD! I hope she does one eventually. Who cares if she's done drama before? She has done fantastically with it, so why not more? Damn you, Dravs!

Drama's kind of her thing though! That stinks. :/
