Oh spare the guilt trip please.
I actually prefer the shows portrayal of characters and events to the books in a lot of ways. The only thing I dislike about the show compared to the books is the exclusion of some prophecies, history, and dream stuff.

You realize you're being as much of an ass as elitist book readers, right?

AYRT said "I prefer" and in no way implied their preference was objective truth. so no.

Because "spare the guilt trip" and gloating over people being upset isn't obnoxious? You're just as bad as book readers, especially since you seem to be ardently defending the rude assholes ITT. Because show watchers are always ~perfect~

You're reading a lot into what I'm saying that isn't there, anon.

I mostly just hate spoilers, especially when they're intentional or due to gross negligence/laziness, which definitely has informed my position on this wrt: OP's secret.

If you enjoy your 'A song of ice and fire for dummies', good for you. Not that the books are amazingly deep or anything, but you're watching a show that changed a character's name just because it kinda sounded similar to another character's and assumed that the viewers were so fucking stupid that they would be confused by the similar names.

Please don't ever talk about how professionals do their jobs again. Not having characters with near-identical names is BASIC screenwriting practice. Even putting your asinine overestimation of audience "intelligence" aside, do you know how many people have to read a script and immediately get who is who in order to make the pretty things happen on the screen? Of course you fucking don't. You think there's some particular showrunner or head writer who's responsible for everything that happens, because that gives you a single face to blame for your dissatisfaction or call racist or whatever. Which is fine, all those people work invisibly so you can have your halfassed little opinions, but don't ever, ever think you understand what functions of adult jobs are important.

(And if you think Asha and Osha will sound distinguishable in all the various accents of the various actors on a show this size, please never attempt to write anything that grownups will have to work to make real.)
