Sounds like you should find nicer places to hang out at. The problem is not the book readers. The problem is assholes who are way too protective of their fandom to the point that they're incapable of welcoming new fans with fresh views.

I dunno, maybe I've been lucky. I've stayed away from the asoiaf boards and tumblr and have limited myself to the JaimexBrienne communities, but I have yet to hear anyone there say a bad thing about show-only fans. Hell, the worst thing they've said about them is when they refer to show-only fans as the Unsullied, and that's actually supposed to be more like a term of endearment. It's only when someone cops an attitude in a ridiculous way that people start getting less than friendly...and even then, things are mostly civil.

I anticipate Unsullieds' reactions to the bigger events. It's kind of exciting. But now we're getting to a point where everyone is going to be Unsullied. So all these back-and-forth jabs are kind of pointless.
