See, I totally could have gotten into that dynamic in Torchwood if they went for it, but God the whole will-she-or-won't-she cheat with Gwen was so annoying. I swear that show had so much potential, both in terms of universe as relationships, but they squandered most of it.

Yeah. I'm a Torchwood fan, and it's more the potential of the show that I love rather than the show itself. It manages some fantastic moments, and two or three actually good episodes out of the entire show, but half the time the characters make such stupid decisions and the plots fall down halfway through.

+1 to pretty much everything you said here. I love the idea of Torchwood. It could've been pretty great. But oh my god they squandered it so. =_=

For me I watched a season and a half of Torchwood because I fell in love with the characters. But it never lived up to the potential of those characters so I gave up on it.
