I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm well known in one of my fandoms but there are several other fandoms I'd like to write for, too... only I don't want to feel pressured by my past record even if it's a fairly good one, if that makes any sense. I prefer to maintain separate identities for each fandom and let my fic stand on its own rather than carry any baggage based on my primary fandom.
