Sometimes things surprise you! I know I was pleasantly surprised by POI as well... I find it hard to believe anyone would dislike it once they gave it a chance, you know? It's a high quality, multifaceted show.

IDK if it will alleviate your fears, but I think the show only got better after season one. Some of the later finales in particular are absolutely mind-blowing. POI has some of the best finales I've ever seen, and I can't really recall any 'rough' spots... the show has been consistently good for as long as I can remember.

I hope you feel the same (once you catch up)!

That's good to hear! Sometimes I'll get hooked on a show only for it to go downhill after one or two seasons. I've just started season two and so far so good. Really happy they've got a dog now, Bear is awesome. Root is scary, though (lol).

Bear is SO adorable and Finch and Reese have some very coupley moments including Bear. I loved Bear's addition to the show...he never gets enough screen-time.

Root IS scary, but Root is one of those characters I started off hating and ended up loving. She'll surprise you, believe me.

I've heard the Reese and Finch dynamics has changed in the later seasons to the point of it being retconned? That got me somewhat worried since their dynamics is such an important part of the show and even if I didn't ship them it's still one of the things that makes the show so interesting to me.

Hmm, I'm not sure what that person was trying to imply. Reese and Finch are still important to each other, though I don't think they spent as much time together last season. (Which has more to do with the cast getting bigger and spreading out a bit than them not still being friends. Reese and Finch still adore each other and I don't feel like they've changed all that much. They do form relationships with other people and their pasts are certainly explored more, but nothing has stopped me from shipping them.)
