I think we can safely say that "living forever" is probably on a lot of people's wish lists. (Or, well, maybe not forever, but probably close enough. You know, considering.)

If I had The Doctor's brains and abilities then maybe I would be into the idea as well. Regeneration certainly has its appeal, but at the same time the thought of living almost indefinitely is terrifying to me.

Indefinitely sounds really good to me. You'd be like an ancient tree. Pure immortality would be more disconcerting.

IDK...if I'm still self aware, especially if I can't interact much with the world around me, that sounds unbearable. (You mentioning an ancient tree made me think of these Dragon Age characters... or, well, two statues that contained the spirits of people from long, long ago, and watching the world go by around them nearly drove one insane.)
