Re: What is your weekend?

I've done early April in DC twice. Basically I can't predict it at all. March could be absolutely amazing with weather in the 60s or it could snow and be miserable. The one time I went in April, it hailed. Another time I went in April it was probably the most beautiful spring week I've ever had.

You'll want to make sure you can use the metro and if you are riding it more than twice a day, it's worth it to get a day pass.

You're going a little earlier than I usually do because I usually go for Cherry Blossom Festival or I go in the summer for a few days.

OMG okay, the train is super super convenient. I've taken in from NJ to DC 3 times and absolutely book ahead and plan it for the best price because you can get decent deals.

Food is really hard for me. I'm terrible at recommendations, generally, but our hotel has a list and recommended Clyde's near the Verizon Center. It's the Chinatown metro stop, right next to the arena and it was pretty nice Americana food place.

Feel free to bug me lots. So is this instead of going to NYC?

I don't mind the cold, I just hope it doesn't rain the whole time.

Yeah, we are going to get a 7 day metro pass (and then three day passes probably).

Yeah, I think we will be booking all of our major expenses next weekend. :D I can't wait for that.

I think we are eating at Clyde's at least once. It is on our list.

Find a good map app. I haven't found one I like yet enough to recommend it, but knowing where you are helps.

Check the weather and if you're planning on doing the memorials, make sure to have umbrella/rain coat with you because there is no where to run and hide if it starts storming there.

I love the zoo, Arlington Cemetery, and of course all of the museums.

Since you're planning this so far in advance see if you cam get tickets to the Capitol or White House. I know you have to write your Representative for them, or at least you used to.

I loved the view from the Washington Monument as a kid.
