... Erm, I mean, yes, Flrtcher was probably the worst thing that could have happened to Andrew. It's like some people took this as an inspirational tale of gifted student being mentored by a caring teacher when in fact, it turned that trope upside down where the teacher was a horrible narcissist who would destroy anyone unlucky enough to get in his orbit.

Which is why I love that movie so much. And if there's fan fic that acknowledges this, well, kudos for the writers.
