I'm not quite as burnt out on DC if only because their movies don't come out nearly as often. I saw the trailer for Suicide Squad and was actually kind of interested, which surprised me.
But IA on general superhero exhaustion.
I still like the X-Men, though. Somehow my brain doesn't classify them the same - maybe because their format is different from the MCU (though they have their own flaws)

AYRT

Yeah, DC just isn't as much of a constant barrage. The trailer for Bats vs Supes did not at all encourage me, mind, but I've just looked up the SS trailer now and I can see what you mean. I might take a chance on that one (if partly because that trailer oddly made me want Amanda/Harley).

The MCU I'm definitely burned out on, though, and while I enjoyed some of the X-men movies I haven't really watched the most recent ones either. X-men do feel different, though, you're right there.

Right? I thought for sure I had stopped caring about everything superhero, but there is something a bit intriguing about Suicide Squad (though I don't love the Joker).

Have you seen the promo pics for X-Men Apocalypse? Because Jubilee looks so freaking adorable. And Storm is rocking the mohawk. Visually at least, I'm liking it - it's colorful and a bit crazy.

Suicide Squad looks like the first really FUN movie in this whole David Goyer jerkoff franchise.

The problem I have with the suicide squad movie is that it is a villain vs villain vs villain movie. No matter how cool it is, I'm not up for rooting for the villains. Amanda "The Wall" Waller is a villain, the Suicide Squad themselves are villains, whoever they are sent against will be a villain (is it the 90s Marilun Manson Joker? If it is then, ugh, no). At least in the original Dirty Dozen movies Lee Marvin's character was a somewhat rogue good guy and the villains were literally Nazis. I feel that is what is missing from Suicide Squad, movie and comics.

Well, that's a matter of personal taste and I can understand that. I just like to think of it as a comedy where most everyone is an asshole.

I can get that at work though.

Ha! You have my sympathies.

Yeah, that's why I'm a bit hesitant about it too. The trailer intrigued me, but I can't help but think I'll hate everybody.

Try torrenting renting the Batman: Assault on Arkham animated movie. It is basically the same plot with some Batman cameos added in, and if you don't enjoy it because of the villain vs villain vs villain vis The Joker vs occasionally Batman, then skip the live action version.

That is a great idea :D thanks so much!
