Yeah. I hate how everything starts and ends so quickly, and people expect you to ride the wave or sink.

NAYRT, but YES. It's actually kind of depressing, what I used to love about fandom was that unlike "RL" discussions and memes and so forth lasted forever, whereas RL tends to be very hit or miss. But then RL discovered the internet exists, and the rest is history.
