I don't understand. Can't you talk about other fandoms by going outside the MCU fandom space? Why do you expect people in a fandom space for a specific fandom to talk about other fandoms?

Because it's not a specific fandom space. These are mostly my IRL geek friends, so it's a completely multifandom space, which is influenced by how many of the crowd are currently obsessing with a given fandom.
Sometimes we have moments of talking about other stuff, but it always inevitably cycles back to squeeing about the MCU. I wait in vain for the day when a new fandom will overtake them like wildfire, and meanwhile am mostly alone in my anime-fandom corner.
