But he saved someone's life. He was totally fine with what she wrote. And she chose to save him, knowing that he was real. But she wasn't going to let that other person die and he wouldn't have been happy if she'd written it that way either.

She could write that he noticed the kid and got a hold of him and his bike in time. Or that he was lucky and only had slight bruises.
Another inconsistency is when he called her. She typed: the phone rang. The phone rang again. However she didn't write that he called her, the writer. Whom did he call then?
