Same. I can't even justify it to myself. Maybe it's because the actual love interest was so boring.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-28 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously. It is an impressive character who has two secret identities and still manages to be the most boring person on the show.

DA

LOL what is this? Why does someone need two secret identities?

(Anonymous) 2015-07-29 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
His real identity is a villain who made fake "perfect man" personality #1 as a way to hide on earth. Fake personality subconsciously made personality #2, a knight who swoops in to save the day, out of his original self's power and his own desire to protect the heroine.

I think this sounds way more interesting than it actually was - #1 isn't intentionally bland, and his dull-as-dirt personality is what eventually takes over and becomes "real".

God, I loved Kish. Thanks for bringing some nostalgia back in full force, OP.

Wait, you shipped Strawberry and Quiche, or nerd and cat, or whatever they were called?

...OK, I can see that. But the boy was not right in the head.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-29 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
He was still more interesting that the fake identity that somehow became a real person just for Tru Wuv even though he never existed and was explicitly a fucking persona the Big Bad wore.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-29 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I shipped them too, but I tend to not bring it up much, because I know it's screwed up.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-29 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Count me in as someone else who shipped it. It's fucked up, but that's part of the appeal.

When I was rather into this fandom, this was an intensely common opinion (at least in English circles). Like, you'd have a far more shocking secret if you said you liked Masaya. XD

It's not hard to justify, OP: They had fun bickering! Kish was cuter! He was an amusing creepy villain, and Masaya was chronically boring and cliche as a "perfect" dude, a villain, and a tuxedo-mask middleguy. :|

SA
I went to FF.net to check the numbers, just to be sure I wasn't remembering wrong:

Total:
Kish - 2.4k
Ryou - 1.1k
Masaya - 164

Kish and Ichigo - 1.9k
Ryou and Ichigo - 778
Masaya and Ichigo - 119
(+ Blue Knight - 7, Deep Blue - 38)

OP's ship is the juggernaut.

OP here... I didn't know. TMM was one of very few series ever translated to Swedish, so I've never seen the fandom, just stumbled over the manga just now and was reminded of how sad I'd been they didn't get together and how tiny me had not seen any fucked-ness in how he treated her.

And then the startling realization that fuck, I still ship it.

AYRT

I figured you didn't know, but that's an interesting progression. Sorry, I wasn't trying to jump down your throat, but I just thought it amusing to see you confess a common opinion!
