I went into it completely skeptical, and thought the idea of realigning energies was bogus too. Even though it helped my pain, I still think that's bogus. I assume it helped because of the way it stimulates muscles or nerves - some medical reason and not because of energies or anything like that.

You'd be right.

There has been some scientific investigation into acupuncture and the benefits are real. Same with meditation.

The rest are bogus though.

Not exactly. Studies have been very inconsistent with the effects of acupuncture. For every study that suggests benefits might be real, there's another one that suggests there is absolutely no correlation. They also look into placebo effect.

Not saying it's real or it isn't, but science is uncertain and acupuncture is still considered "alternate medicine."
