I see a lot of funny pictures. It would probably get pretty annoying if I sent ALL of them to my friends tbh. I just assume they wouldn't want to be barraged with them

This. I only share the things that I find exceptionally funny so that I don't spam my friends.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-29 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-29 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry that you feel that way but at the end of the day, you see a million things on the Internet and you can't share all of them

(Anonymous) 2015-07-29 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe they thought you'd already seen them? Or maybe they feel they're annoying you by sharing the thing? Maybe they meant to, but forgot cause you weren't online at the time?

How about asking them to share the funny stuff they find?

I think the issue is less that they should be sharing these things with you when they see them and more that they should be more tactful when you share them.

Not everyone's going to think to share funny pieces of media, even with their best friends. But it sounds like your friend is a little rude when presented with things they've already seen, which isn't cool. Maybe you could explain that you want to be able to enjoy these things together, even if they're not new to her/him?

IA. If nothing else they could pretend that it's new to them, and squee with you over it. (I do this all the time, it's easy.)

Yeah, like it doesn't have to be "lol I saw that last week," it can be "omg I know, I saw that!" Or, like I do sometimes when a friend is really excited by something, laugh without feeling the need to mention that it's not the first time you're laughing.

Yeah, I think I actually had a friend like that and just gave up on sharing things with them. At the very least, "I've seen that! It's hilarious" or something along those lines would suffice.

Poor puppy.

You should probably talk this over with your friend instead of making passive-aggressive secrets about it here and feeling so sad and hard done by.

Cute puppy though.

Sometimes I will show my friends something and they won't respond and then like a week later they will share it with me without apparently realizing I tried to share it with them a week ago, lol.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-30 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I hate when people say that. If someone is excited and they show me something I already saw I have the courtesy to pretend like I never saw it and try to act surprised.

I wish people would do that to me even if it's just a lie. It kinda makes me stop wanting to sharing anything anymore

(Anonymous) 2015-07-30 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Because they have a concept of boundaries and of not bombarding their friends with fandom shit 24/7?

(Anonymous) 2015-07-30 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
You sound unbearably clingy.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-30 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
I do this. My reasons are 1) when I see them my friend isn't around, 2) I only find them mildly amusing and not worth sharing, and 3) I'm not the type to get excited over things like my friend (she likes to comment on/react to/fangirl about things and I just shrug or throw in a 'lol' and move on)

That puppy is sooo cute!

I think it depends, on the one hand, like the others have said, you can't expect your friends to show you every funny pic they find, maybe they didn't see any point in sending it to you or forgot about it till they saw it again.

On the OTHER hand, I think the person is justified in feeling a bit hurt if they always react like this, or perhaps this is just an example of how they seem bored in general, whenever their friend wants to share anything new? This could be a sign of other things troubling them in the friendship :( Not knowing more about the situation I can't say.

It can depend on the situation...
