Australia and New Zealand are waaaay more strict than that. They'll fine you for having an apple. And in fact will go through all your packaged food looking at the ingredients. Wooden items are inspected closely. You can't bring in necklaces made of certain seed species even.

Bananas are notorious for having diseases, they've wiped out whole areas of industry in Australia, and farmers have had to wait a decade to start again. They even pulled down my healthy backyard banana as a preventative quarantine enforcement, lol.

And don't forget hidden pests and non native spider in the banana cases/IN THE BANANAS. Then they go rampant and kill everything. So. Yeah. Don't. You'll deserve the fine >_>
