i doubt if sensates were actually a thing it would definitely not be as exciting as the series just because most people are that boring.

You mean if someone got paired up in a group of eight random individuals around the world, they wouldn't include professional criminals, celebrities, people with dark pasts, martial arts experts, people with ties (unwanted or otherwise) to criminal organizations, and such?

It might be eight people who have nothing much in the way of hobbies and don't like to get off the couch if they can help it?

...That might make a funny show in its own right, actually. Ideas, for if Netflix doesn't decide to renew Sense8 for a second season.

Or as suggested below, just one average person among them, or maybe one crazy-spy-criminal-martial-artist etc. who is always getting into over the top stuff, and the rest regular trying to keep it together.

Well, statistically speaking they'd probably be just as boring as you. No expert hackers or hardboiled criminals. Maybe you'd get someone who can barely read or a shoplifter.

It's okay, Kala is pretty boring, too. So is Riley, at least throughout most of it until maybe the end. They were both the most useless members of the bunch tbh

I kept waiting for Kala's job as a pharmacologist at a drug company to come up - Sun's family company is a drug company, Nomi and Riley were hospitalised by the bad guys, Capheus needed medication for his mother...but no.

I think she helped make a bomb once, and then in the last episode helped a bit with people's drugs. But her pharmaceutical knowledge was vastly underutilized. And it might've been interesting if she tried to send Capheus medication for his mother or something... I'm banking on the fact that they have plot for five seasons so probably are going to tie more things together.

I would have probably been more interested in this show had there been one guy (or gal) just living a normal life who periodically just asked the others to quiet down, he or she has work in the morning and is just trying to get some sleep. Or asking the others for crossword help.

On one hand, it could be cool. But they would get stressed out by me. Working in a hospital with wildlife, going, "I know Kyla and Kuma are cool, but they're fucking mountain lions, so calm the hell down!"; training 5x week minimum with my horse, and outside of that, constant studying.

Oh god, I just stressed myself out. Maybe Riley should give me some ecstasy.
