I hate cinnamon so I don't like cinnamon rolls.

They're also too sticky and make a mess.

I actually love cinnamon. So if they weren't as sweet and were more cinnamon-y (and maybe with some other spices) I would love them.

But they are too sticky. That raises another good point - the frosting on cinnamon rolls is terrible.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not a fan of cinnamon in general though. One of the more overrated spices, IMHO.

No (although those are really fucking awful). But I'm thinking about bakeries and coffee shops in general

there's one particular bakery near me, whose name actually references cinnamon rolls, and all the rest of their baked goods are really good. but their cinnamon rolls still suck. it's not a good pastry.

Commercial ones are, yes. Homemade cinnamon rolls with a proper dough and good quality cinnamon are amazing.

Agreed about store-bought cinnamon rolls. But I love the homemade ones I only have the patience to make once a year.
