Re: Do you love your job? Why?

I can totally see why they would love those jobs. The journalist/blogger one is definitely up my alley and something I'm considering at least as a side gig for now. I'm so jealous of the chef leaving his job to do something he loves (and is obviously very good at).

I'm definitely committed to finding my niche. I fell into my current job as a victim of the economy, and I think it's time to find something I really love to do.

Thank you so much for your comments! It's good to know others have done it and that it's possible for all of us. :)

No worries! I'm a bit inspired by my friends, and I like talking about how well they've done.

I think everyone has had a job they don't really care about at some point. It sucks, but at least it's something. I think it's a really great idea to try stuff out on a smaller scale first. From memory, my friend took a journalism course at uni to fill a requirement and ended up loving it so much he went back to study it full time and made a lot of good industry connections while he was studying. His blog actually started as a class assignment and grew from there.

Yup. I am very fortunate that I have a job while I can take my time to search for another one. And while I can't afford to go back to school for another full-fledged degree, I'm definitely considering taking some courses at the community college nearby. Maybe I'll get struck with some inspiration!
