Okay, so I'll try to give you the arguments.

-He's privileged.
-He complains all the time despite being privileged.
-He doesn't want to listen to anyone else complain.
-He's very self-absorbed in general.
-He pulls a "nice guy" act if you choose him as your LI.

Why can't people just be okay with disliking a character without feeling some need to be all self-righteous over it?

Like, IMO, Alistair is a really boring character, overwhelmingly corny and I always felt a lot of second-hand embarrassment about him. But ALL of the Origins characters are uninteresting, unoriginal clichés, so I can't really hold it against him specifically.

Alistair's only redeeming quality to me was that he was overwhelmingly corny, but I blame that on my husband and his family finally stockholming me into loving terrible puns.
