Re: Help me find a book

Okay, I sort of half remember this book from the 1990s. Or at least, I read it in the mid 1990s, I have no idea when it was published.

It was an anthology of linked stories about vampires who were supposedly Dracula's children through his different wives. There was even a genealogy chart too. Each story built on the last and took the Dracula clan from Victorian Era through to a post apocalyptic era. The only specific story in it I remember was there was one Vampire who was trying to opt out of the vampire lifestyle and was getting by on blood soup and blood sausage, and then then a sort of vampire mob-enforcer squad turned up to kill him. The story was about him coming out to his housekeeper and then warning her off before the mobsquad got there. I would love to know what the book itself was called, so I can read it again. If anyone knows, then please pipe up.

I think it's called Dracula's Children

By Ronald Chetwynd-Hayes (1986-87) http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=1178388659

There's a book by Richard Lortz with the same title that gets mentioned a lot, but doesn't appear not the same one.

That is it, Anon. Thank you, the Lotz book was probably shading it out from the searches I did. Seems to be out of print too, which never helps. :(
