Coping mechanism? Lol okay. Some people cope by drinking alcohol. That doesn't make alcohol healthy, or feminist. Lashing out in a negative way isn't a part of feminism or any ethical ideology. It still is anti-feminist no matter how sympathetic your reasons.

Oh puhlease, addiction is your go-there comparison to self-protection?

I'm not seeing where you're objecting. Your argument was "it's feminist if it's a coping mechanism" which was dumb, because coping mechanisms aren't inherently healthy or okay, and they CERTAINLY aren't somehow automatically feminist.

If women are trying to recover from the most damaging consequences of sexism by temporarily withdrawing from male influence, why is that not a feminist process? You saw the phrase "coping mechanism" and automatically thought "addiction", so perhaps "smart strategies for dealing with a fucked up violent abusive system" would be better.

How much this has to do with the OP's secret? Probably little.

It's really unfair to men that women can protect themselves physically or emotionally. All access to women all the time, or Jesus died for nothing!
