Actually, rewatch the first film. They were discussing whether to enact the plan, but Hammond didn't want it to go into effect, so, apparently the plan was something that was remotely executable as opposed to actually a thing like in the books.

I thought the point of that conversation was that the dinosaurs needed to be fed lysine separately, and the plan was to remove it, so that the dinosaurs would go into comas, and the humans could traverse the park safely? I.E. the lysine issue was already built into the dinosaurs, the trick was to remove their outside source of it.

Hmm, I may need to rewatch it again. But I still think it was like an on/off switch. Plus, that almost seems to be moot by the time you see the eggs and Grant saying that "life found a way", so the lysine thing could very well be defunct by that point anyway and the scientists never really realized it? Oo?
